This guy is the newest of the Yorokiba, and while he looks rather...er, evil ^^; there's a reason. Since the Yorokiba are keepers and guardians of their companions and store happiness from childhood in their beads, if their companion has a tough childhood or passes away, their Yorokiba burdens themselves by taking on their companion's sorrows, or mourns for their loss. This changes their bead, mask, and coat colors, darkening and tainting them as a physical expression of their greif. While not all Yorokiba with dark coats or masks are mourning their lost ones, all those with dark beads are, seeing as their beads are where they store the predominant emotions of their companions lives. Yorokiba are highly emotional creatures and the dark ones can be helped. If a new person takes care of them and bonds with the Yorokiba to become their new companion, their beads may change to a brighter color as they heal, though their coat and mask color will remain the same.
Basic species info: these guys are masked kitsunes with big fluffy bun tails I've named the Yorokiba, a combination of the Japanese words Yorokobi meaning "joy" and Kipa meaning "keeper", that I adopted from LeeOko on DA here: http://krinthecoffee.deviantart.com......4691#/d5cwqya. I'm still working on their backstories, so there's not a whole lot now, but I'm thinking that they are lifetime companions of people lucky enough to be given a pup at birth. They store the joy of the person's childhood in their beads and exude an aura of good feelings throughout their life that helps promote happiness and health. They are quick and deft creatures, despite their awkwardly fluffy tails  They also have a dark form, ask me if you'd like to know more about them since I won't be uploading one for a while. More info on the species to come!
when adopted, you can change minor colors, add as many accessories as you want , add scars or maime them (I feel horrible saying that :P ) decide gender, change design details a little (not species design though), give them an anthro form, i dont really have too many restrictions. it should just be recognizable as this design. you can use it in a comic, as an OC, in a story, or whatever :D
The Yorokiba belong to me and are a closed species. You may not make your own or breed them, and in the event that you adopt it and later do not want it, I will buy it back from you at a third of the price you paid. If you break one of the rules, I will recall the adopt and pay you back a third of the points you paid. i reserve the right to put it back up for adoption. Please don't resell, thank you :)
I take customs!
