After finally getting a chance to fieldtest my fursuit at a con i've got some interesting feedback. Starting with the feet component. They performed above and beyond expectation having no major flaws whatso ever. They did have minor issues such as a tendency to get caught on steps and bending when I clip the ground while running.
But I am able to move very easily in them for prolonged periods of time with only superficial damage to them. Initially designed strictly as indoor paws they more than satisfied that criteria.
A further observation was that they tended to tire out my calf and heel when walking in them for prolonged periods of time but that can be avoided by limiting their usage to under 3hrs a day.
Future upgrades for these I am considering are: replacement of aluminium claws with steel claws for more durrability. Use of a matte finish on the shiny surfaces and a different colour scheme resembling of my actual character.

There are ways to support your calf, mimicking the muscles a digitigrade would have.

depends on how you wear them. They are not designed for outdoor use and will disintegrate very quickly on concrete or ashfalt surfaces. They should last at least a year if average indoor use if you made them well.
Cost wise you are looking at around $50 worth of materials, mainly because you have to destroy a pair of cheap rubber boots to make them. Ribbons aren't exactly cheap either, and you will need around 10-15m of them.
