How many people are you cooking for? If you are cooking for 1 I can give you a recipe for some good home made mini pizzas that taste like Papa Johns for about 1.50 each.. if you want a big pizza it is may be 2.50ish(mostly cheese costs..)
The crust costs almost nothing, as does the Sauce.. it is just the cheese and toppings that add up. ;)

2.25 tsp dry yeast
1tsp salt
1/2 tsp brown sugar
1 tsp sugar
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
1.5 cups hot water (110+ if possible)
3-4 cups flour
add yeast and brown sugar to hot water and let it set for 10-15 minutes
stir in oil, salt, and sugar
Slowly mix in flour.. starting with 2 cups
On a clean surface (I use wax paper) kneed the dough adding flour until it is no longer sticky. Once you can stretch the dough without it ripping roll it into a ball and place it in a large oiled bowl. Cover with a damp cloth and let sit for about an hour.
After the hour break the dough into sections (5ish for mini pizzas.. 1 or 2 for large pizzas depending on the size of your pan and how thick you like your crust)
Punch down the dough and wait another minute or so for it. Then roll (or hand toss) to fit.
Add flour to the pizza pan and preheat oven to 425
Place crust on pan.. at this point you can add things like oil, garlic, or whatever you would season your crust with.. plain is good too.. then bake for a couple minutes until it starts to rise but not until it is done.. while it is still a bit doughy add sauce, cheese, and toppings.. finish baking for 10-20 minutes depending on size...
I just buy the cans of maranara sauce for a dollar.. I spoon on a few spoonfuls (not too much) and I save the rest in a container...
I get my pepperonis at the dollar store and only use like half a pack.. so 33cents for sauce 50 cents for pepperonis.. the crust is may be 70ish cents to make? (I got a big jar of yeast and portion it out rather than packets).. the most expensive part is cheese. I use over half a bag of cheese so that can run like a buck or two.. haha..

Doesn't sound to hard to make.
We do have a 99 cent only store and a dollar tree close too.
I love cheese but I do not get the cheaper kind for that,
cause cheaper kind taste like rubber to me.
I get a huge pack that like $8-9 tho that last me like 2 months or just a lil more.
Thanks for the recipe =3
