They have settings for high-definition, they're small and easy to use. Plus they have a thick plastic casing that is virtually invincible, there are videos of a GoPro falling off the helmet of a skydiver and dropping 3,000ft onto a hard dirt surface without any damage to it. Only the case.
In another instance, a GoPro fell into the ocean, it was found about a year later and when they opened up the case the camera was still 100% dry and they watched the film :P
In other words, GoPro cameras are just so awesome, and guaranteed to get good footage :D
