Tailfeathers. Peanut Flutter also has them. Like the wings, they're based on that of a titmouse, although with a gap in the middle for the mousie's normal tail. They're maneuverable via muscles in the hip area so that a mousie can sit or lie down without ruining them.
Trying to get tails properly positioned can be tricky, especially when one can't see the (base of the) tailbone area. I'll need to adjust the feathers positioning some more, maybe redraw them, (and also be careful with their coloring) to make it more obvious what they are.

In light of your comment above about his tailfeathers, I'm thinking I need to redesign the pegamousies' tail by moving the tailfeathers onto the tail proper. I'll probably want your feedback on that once I've worked it out.

Oh that's fine take your time dude! like I sad I forgot about it. It IS a gift so I'm not gonna heckle you to get it done. though I will say I really am looking forward to seeing this done. I really like your art especially with Rodents *squee!!!*
and Id love to help give feedback if you ask I will admit the prototype above DOES somewhat look like somethings coming outta his butt so perhaps updating it or moving the tail feathers would make it look more like it belongs!

Thank you. Have no fear. I'm sure I'll be drawing more rodents in the future. I do have a few more that are floating around, waiting to be completed, as well as ideas for more. Some are even mousies.
