belly/groin protection is optional armor (most of them use it anyway)

They practically have 4 layers of armor, the ceramite armor adapter and strenghtner has 2 thick layers of ceramite and servos. and a small computer in the back that monitors the state of the wearer, and connects directly to the medicae system that's in the Power armor Backpack.

the armor is connected to the ceramite armor adapter (and can also use some leather straps to acommpany it if the Space marine has clothes covering the ceramite armor adapter). this part works more like the gothic knight armor. the MK7 aquila armor is considerably 2 times thicker than this one. but it still alows protection and alot more of flexibility.

so..pretty much it's like this, the moment a chaos marine gets the chance to run, jump and cover. the space marine could have already ran him over 2 times, stabbed him in the back with a power sword, and filled his head of bullets with a bolter.
