So yeah, in the end I settled with his darker colours because the yellow one was a bit too 'normal and common' to me, plus a darker tone seemed to be more in tune with his Shilunera plot and all.

Anyhow, his official story:
Allister was born into a wealthy, powerful and notorious family of anthro horses. The Naremar blood was known to produce prime quality offspring, both mentaly and physically. Many members of the Naremar family were top faces in the fields of sport, science and economics. Yet Allister grew tired and bored of the shroud of arrogance and snobistic attitudes which surrounded him and his family members. He was tired of his golden life, of everything being decided for him. One day, he fled, as far as he could, across the ocean, to the outskirts of Sanopolis.
He started to work as a personal trainer, using his physical prowess and knowledge to hone and train others. He rented a small studio at first, and enjoyed his new life. Soon, however, Allister learned that his father and brothers had come looking for him, using their connections around the world to track him down. Allister was forced to abandon his home and flee further towards the coast, to the Isles of Dawn.
He was at a loss for words by the time a black wolf found him and took him in for the night. Daze, as he soon introduced himself, heard the horse out and promised to aid him. The wolf urged Allister to tell him more about his family, and so he did. Soon enough, Daze advised him to make a stand for what he believed was the right thing to do. Allister was skeptical about his plan, but nevertheless kept it in the back of his mind as he went out and searched for a job again.
He soon found a job as a bouncer, giving him regular night shifts while Daze was out working during the day. The horse didn't mind, for he knew he had to pay the wolf back in one way or another, even if he had assured him it was alright. They soon became housemates, and for a while, everything seemed to go alright.
After a few weeks, Allister's father and siblings tracked him down and confronted him at the club where he worked. They threatened to drag Allister home with them, and Daze was about to step in when Allister took a step forward and faced his father. He assured him he was perfectly happy where he was, but his father would have nothing of it.
Allister was left with no choice, and invoked the ancient tradition of the Naremar: duel by combat. His father was at a loss for words, but his siblings quickly accepted the challenge in his stead. Allister and his brothers faced off in duel, and after a difficult battle, Allister emerged as the victor. His father and siblings honoured the traditions, respecting Allister's wishes and acknowledging his strength. They returned home in peace, and left him in Daze's care. Until this day Allister has little contact with his family, save for the annual letter his mother sends to him.
Life resumed, and Allister thanked Daze for teaching him to stand up to his family, but more importantly, himself and his legacy. He was now free from any bonds his family has chained him to, free to forge his own life and destiny, and things couldn't have been better for the young horse.
After a while, Allister grew bored with his job at the club, and found a new job opening at the local gym, where he could work as both a fitness instructor and motivational sportscoach. Unbeknownst to Daze, he took the night off to relay the good news to him. When he got home, the house was eerily dark and quiet, and Allister instantly felt uneasy. It was not until he followed the strange noises down towards the abandoned beach that he saw Daze in the midst of combat.
The wolf looked nothing like his usual self: he was dressed in battle armor, wielding two morphing blades and dancing them around what seemed to be living shadows assaulting him. Suddenly, horror struck Allister as Daze buckled over, seemingly writhing in pain as he started to growl and grow larger. Without thinking, Allister charged into the fray in an attempt to save his friend, but he had made a reckless move. Whatever had attacked his friend now turned to him, and he was instantly swept aside against the hard rocks. His last waking memories of the battle were of the shadow creatures circling around him, until a blood curling howl and a giant clawed hand raked them all away from him.
Allister woke again to the sound of Daze's voice, and he sounded troubled. Daze explained to him what had happened, and didn't bother to lie to his friend. He told him about the Shilunera, Akela, the darkness and light, and his role in it all. He explained that rather than letting Allister charge in and get himself killed, Daze had been forced to unleash a heavy attack to save the horse's life. In doing so, however, a powerful and magical backlash had hit Allister straight in the chest, causing him to get knocked out.
When Allister didn't seem to understand what Daze was telling him, a giant white wolf appeared before them, introducing himself as Akela. Akela told the horse that, because of Daze's attack, he had inherited the magical abilities of the Shilunera, the avatars and enforcers of the Guardians. But because Allister was never meant to have these powers, the Guardians had to hold an emergency meeting in order to decide how they should handle the situation. Ultimately, the Four had voted to induct Allister into the Shilunera, deeming him too volatile to be left unchecked. With little choice and knowledge over the situation, Allister accepted, and became a full-fledged Shilunera. Daze was tasked with acting as the horse's guide and mentor, to compensate for his reckless and foolish act.
At first, Allister was upset with the wolf, seemingly thinking he had lost his freedom once more. It wasn't until the wolf showed him what he was capable of with his newfound powers that the horse relented and accepted that whatever his friend had done, it had been to save him. <he quickly learned to fight, think and move like a Shilunera, much to the appreciation of Daze and the Four. Balancing out both of his lives has proven difficult, even now... but with the help of his new friends, the young horse is confident in his abilities.
After all... he'd always be a Naremar.

I've never heard of the Four. Did you write a story on them and I somehow missed it? I think you mentioned that Akela is Daze's father in some story past right? I thought he wouldn't leave Anumen, at least not for a long period of time. So much I don't know and am now curious about.
That was an idea I had yus. But in the end I decided not to go with that idea, was a bit too obvious otherwise~ So Akela isn't daze's father, nuw. The Four are the four Guardians that each guard a corner of the world. Each Guardian has a Shilunera that enforces his or her will and has consorts and apprentices that help them in taking care of the more otherworldly and abstract things, such as balance of life, preservation of species etc etc,... Akela can travel all around the world just like the other three but he makes his home in Anumen~
