This one is slightly controversial and I'm very curious to see how people will react to it. :D;

Your art Is the awesome but i have the same thing with my stories. People will favourite them or not respond so I'm left wondering if my stuff is any good.
Put up a story about Pokemon stuff and suddenly I'm swamped in interest...it is annoying.
But your artvis good I'm just bad at commenting as i hate typing things on my phone so by the time i get home and on my PC I've forgotten

This is very true for so many artists. There are plenty of artists that draw nothing but fan art and their watch count is stupidly high, and then you get artists that draw nothing but their own stuff – which is equally good and possibly better (depending on the artist) - that just gets completely over looked. (I won’t go into the adult side of things because it has its own set of rules). I guess getting a balance of fan art and original content is critically important for a newly starting artist – especially in the furry fandom. I know this “look and move on” rule also applies to non-artists that have uploaded commissions of their characters separately from the artists too. Ironically I struggle to get interest in my characters for exactly the same reason. However if you get just 30 favourites / views, just remember that a normal sized classroom sits 30 students. 30 is larger than it looks.
That's a really good point! The views are way important, and 30 is actually really quite good.
But! No matter how frustrating it is that fanart gets all the faves, you just have to remember that it's because people already relate to it.. they already have a relationship with it and came to it knowing that they'd enjoy it. It takes exposure and time to get them to like the original stuff, too. :D
