OK, I'm doing something I don't normally do: I want you to take a look at this pic and BRUTALLY critique it. See, I've never drawn non-morphic animals before (at least successfully) other than already cartoony Pokemon, but I figure maybe trying something different will help get my creative juices flowing freely again. Besides, this fellow is actually a darkhorse contender for possible alternate fursona, as well.
This is Denner Hawkspur, a character I used to play online in AOL's Rhy-Din RP rooms back when it was actually still worth doing that, almost a decade ago. If you're wondering why a wolf has a first and last name, it's because his quadruped status is actually a fairly "recent" development; he was originally a half-drow assassin who made the mistake of cheating on his betrothed, unaware thst she was the daughter of a local wolf-god. Enraged at his son-in-law-to-be's infidelity, said god decided to teach Denner a lesson by turning him INTO a wolf; after all, wolves mate for life. Unfortunately or fortunately, however, Denner kept both his intelligence and his half-elven lifespan, outliving both human and wolf; an ironic glitch of sorts in the spell also allows him to assume a demihuman form during nights of the full moon, perhaps to allow him to remember what it was once like to be among humanity and thus sharpen his curse's edge.
Side-note: he became much more fun to RP once he became a wolf, oddly enough. Part of it was the other players slowly realizing that "there's more to this beast than he seems..."
ANYWAY, I digressed wildly. Please take a look at Denner here and tell me what I need to tweak to make him look like a proper wolf...oh, and don't bother with the obvious stuff like the undrawn left hindleg or tail. Stick to the relevant stuff, please.

all right i come bearing suggestions, if you bear with me, i'll try to get them accross
the front legs look a LOT like arms, not legs, i'd suggest putting the "elbow" a lil higher and making the "upper leg" a lot less apparent, and blending it into his torso. i think maybe the foreleg is a lil too muscular near the "elbow" if you look up a reference of a "real" wolf, their arms are not overly muscular, its their body and neck and head that is the most muscular- not like lions much at all really.
And you seem to have added a bone in his rear leg O.O. >^.^< i may not be a biology expert but the bone in the middle of the Z bend shouldn't be there and it makes him look monstrous and for reason lizard like. If you're REALLY going for him to look like a wolf, i'm recommend removing it and taking a gander at a real wolf, then deciding how you want to caricature it to make it your own style.
Your body and head look great to me tho, its just seems like you just aren't sure how to draw his legs.
>^.^< i hope i was helpful! I may not have an art degree or a biology degree, but i think i have a pretty good eye for it by now >^.~<
