Design a tail contest!!
There will be 2 categories (dog tail / cat tail), and yes you can submit an entry for each category if you want!
Basically using the fur-sample colours provided, design either a dog or cat tail.
Submit your entry by uploading your edited
picture, and link it in a comment back to this submission entry, and also include a link to a journal entry promoting this event to help spread the word!
The long fur samples (intended for the dog design) are on the left.
The short fur samples (intended for the cat design) are on the right.
If you choose to use a short fur colour on the dog or long fur colour on the cat, you can do so, but be aware I cannot make short fur long, but I can trim down long fur if needs be.
(This is what I have in stock, and want to use up some of it, which is the reason for this giveaway contest)
I will pick the best 3 tails for awards 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place.
The chosen winners will have their designed tail made for them, and mailed for FREE! (UK only)
Contest will be closed on the 30th of December, and the tails will be shipped out after New Year once they have been made.
(Note, one of the colour options on the long fur side is multi-coloured orange/pink/yellow)

Finished my entry. I hope its okay. I didnt want to make it too complicated for you so i made it simple but pretty so if its chosen, it'll look nice with the colour scheme.

Ok that's fine, i'll keep that in mind. I'm running this contest to try and use up some of my fur stock, so I will not order in any extra fur for this. Sorry for the confusion.
So for your entry, fire-orange pawmark on top of dark blue, white stripe down middle, and cream under-neith? Or did you want red under-neith?

Hey Puppy, I think you might have mixed up your left and right in the description - the description is saying the furs for the tails are on the opposite sides of the image to them.
I'll be entering either way since Miz's tail could really be either, but I thought I'd clear up the confusion

Also, i don't mind too much if people want to use short fur for dog / long fur for cat, as long as they don't mind it being like that. I know that dog tails can look ok if the short fur is on top and long fur is on bottom.. and complex markings (like paw prints :V) usually need the fur to be quite short so you can actually tell what it is. Just make sure I can tell which fur sample is being used where :V

Ok, finally get round to judging this.. Took me a while but here are the top 3 tails:
In third place, i'm putting Vestra's cat tail design, and although it's a nice design, it is a rather generic stripey tail in lots of colours (hence why i put it third and not second or first) and oh my god all that sewwing o_O;
In second place, Flooooooooooooob! Corrianderp for her nice creamy tail. Fairly simplistic in design, but it definitely appeals to me as a tail I would like to make.
In first place, will be Vestra's dog tail!!! Yeah this looks a pretty sweet tail to make, even if it will still be oh my god all that sewwing... XD
I'll start work on these in due time, and i will need addresses to get these posted to you. Feel free to send me that in a note ~

That would cost me too much money. Even if it's only 2-3 colours, that's easily £45 (~$72) in materials just buying a meter of each colour of fur. I can't afford to do that as freebies.. which is why I did this using the fur colours I already have in stock.
It's a nice idea, but when i'm running a small commission-based business, i don't have the funds to do stuff like that..
