Personal - Green Glow
~~~
More practice with my Green 'Dream' Wolf, another pic of her...floating...and glowing...green. Heh.
Took some more critique advice - tried making the nose a bit wider, (less fox-like since she's a wolf,) rounded the ears, and added some butt-fluff. Still working on shortening those toes into paws. XD
Also, before anyone comments on the shoulder angle, I /love/ drawing shoulders like that, and have worked way too hard to teach myself to draw them to not. XD It's also part of my style. So yeah, haha.
I'm trying to do more of my Dream Wolf and Blue Dream Tiger in feral/anthro forms in my usual lazy, elegant, floaty poses. For some reason, I find it more difficult to put canines/felines in those poses than dragons - you'd think how many dragons I do in floaty poses I'd be able to make a...a floating...giraffe. I should do that.
Constructive criticism is welcome! ^^ Thanks to all of the constructive critique so far from everyone who has commented with such - it really helps, and I really keep it in mind! I've seriously improved since I started trying to sketch wolf/lion heads in my note margins, believe me. :)
Do you guys like these pieces? Would you like to see more of the Green Dream Wolf and Blue Dream Tiger? Would you like me to do other critters as well? Suggestions are always welcome! Thanks!
Enjoy!
Okay - I'm not really going for any particular kind, but I usually look at grey wolves before sketching. ...Just looked up some pics of maned wolves then grey wolves - looks like neck flexibility isn't an issue, (maned wolves looked a little bit more flexible than greys?) but I definitely need more fur irregardless of type, haha.
Oh, I see you took my critique! :)
Much better anatomy wise. I love it!
You rounded the muzzle, made the nose larger, rounded the ears, added more fluff on the hind-quarters... beautiful!
I'm happy that you took my critique into mind. :)
Though, wolves have pretty short tails. And, even though the neck will look longer because of this pose, the neck is still a bit too long. In another pose it might be easier to make the neck shorter. ;)
The haunch is too high, making the foot itself too long.
I hope I helped. And I love this picture so much. <3
Ah yeah, it was a great help, thanks! ^^. And I see what you mean - I think the things I need to work most on are the necks, torsos, and hind legs... I was just looking at some muscle charts so I hope that'll help the feet at least, and the rest of the anatomy will come, inshallah. Would you say my pieces so far show a knowledge in muscle/bone structure? I mean, relatively, since I've only been doing canines/felines seriously since...well, maybe a week before I did my first green wolf, haha.
Your critique has been a big help! I'm glad my improvements are noticeable too. I have really been doing a lot of sketches based on reference pics, but am trying to do more pieces in my 'floating pose' style. I got a private message a couple days ago which I think was supposed to be a critique but ended up ripping me a new one and accusing me of not using references or taking critiques, (which is not true,) so that was really discouraging.
Thanks so much for your help again - I really appreciate it, and I'm so glad you like the piece! :)
