The Panzer Mk.VI Tiger are oddly enough is a general tank group and there are TWO Tiger tanks: Tiger I and Tiger II Kongstiger. The Panzer VI known as Tiger I was thrown against the Allies in 1942, this version's production run was a little under 2,000 units, the main gun was the Famous 88mm, this tank was extremely expensive, and the frontal armor was 120mm thick. The second version, the Tiger II, known as the Kongstiger; which translated means "King Tiger" or "Royal Tiger", only less then 900 units. And the Tiger II maintained the same armor thickness as it's smaller bother. However, the suspension system and drive train was not meant for this monster of destruction, they were for the lighter Tiger I's and the Panzer V's. The 120mm thick armor was sloped at 45 degrees: For those who have this knownage, when you sloped armor at 45 degrees it means that when a shell hits it will bounce off with little or no damage to the vehicle; Tiger IIs entered the service in 1944 during the last few months of WW2, too late to affect the outcome.
