casually approach one at a con or public festival,

or in my case, do the aforementioned, get invited to a con after you realize one is moving right near you back at home, and befriend one for life.... :3

this guy is a good friend of mine man - but i wouldnt have ever met him had i not went to public events where he randomly was (not stalking, i just had no idea)
