A colored concept sketch/speed paint like thing for 
TreefyLeaves playing with the idea of combining animals with trees/plants. This was pretty fun since I like to do character design/concept stuff but don't often get a chance to.
This particular guy I'd imagine to be a very mature individual which is sort of ambigious in its base animal(s), perhaps they start off more animal like and over time shift more towards plants.
Also hey guys, I'm not dead, sorry about all the inactivity lately!

Hmm, I've seen some of your work before but I'm not sure I'm familiar with your character. This was inspired by treant type creatures, something mammal like and somewhat the face shape the commissioner had used in a previous concept picture http://www.furaffinity.net/view/8460642/

I never said it had anything in common with my character, other than being a tree? I said that tree-type animals, always remind me of my OC. I don't see very many of them, so I always get pretty excited when I see one. I've read the entire conversation you've written below, and it seems that my simple comment of admiration, has been turned into.. I don't even know what? It sounds like you're accusing me, of accusing rhyu of stealing my character? O.o
Which I'm not. I have an appreciation for anything plant/nature based, especially trees. I was merely commenting that I had some nature based characters as well. I'm rather offended that you would say "this, the only similarity i see is antlers and black/green, otherwise the similarity is negligible to non-existant" as well as " I hate people comparing my own characters to things i've never seen or heard of, and having them outright deny my inspirations when I mention them" and your entire conversation about people accusing others of stealing character ideas is rather hurtful to me. Especially as I've actually HAD people copy my character at one point. I never said, or implied in anyway, that this was a copy, nor is it in any way shape or form, like my character, other than the tree bit. Which is what I was pointing out, because I love trees.
I also don't think that someones BEAUTIFUL artwork, is the place to hold a discussion about random things, especially things that are hurtful to other people! I'm hoping that you both will be polite and delete the unnecessary messages, and move to notes for your conversations, for Rhyu's sake, and for everyone who goes to look at this image, and ends up reading your discussion that implies, from start to finish, that I have in some way shape or form insulted Rhyu and said they stole my character design.
All because I said the tree reminded me of my character, because shes a tree as well.
I hope you two are both more polite in the future, and don't make assumptions of people merely trying to be nice. Also, I wouldn't backhandedly insult anyone who I was getting a commission from. It (personally) would seem like an inappropriate action on my part.

That "other tree woof on FA", here! I wanted to say pretty much everything you said, when I saw the chain of comments above. Amazing how quickly the conversation became about themselves, rather than the art that Rhyu drew. Kind of rude. :(
I'm with you, I think this art is absolutely STUNNING and I am over-the-top excited to see more plant-based animals. I honestly think this is one of the coolest pics I've seen on FA in quite a while. :3 In fact, it inspired me to break out my tablet and try my own variation of my 'sona along those lines. So @Rhyu, AWESOME job, and thank you so much for the inspiration! I always love seeing your art. It never gets old.

Indeed. :P I suck at drawing trees myself, but i've no shortage of images of my nature-chars in their original elements. :P I'll have to come and browse your stuff sometime. I remember someone once accused me of stealing your char, I believe we've talked about it before. :P
