As a part of Raleigh's back story from the Old Bones & New Meat comic, he's essentially a war vet from a war against wizard factions, so to speak.
Mostly I just wanted to draw a picture of him right before the war and right after the war, and to illustrate how the stress would have physically effected him, I guess.
