Revell 1/144 scale Lockheed Super Constellation in Trans World Airlines livery "Star of Blarney Castle" registry N7104C. Had quite a life serving with Trans World Airlines. Unfortunately, she, along with VERY many other prop liners met the scrap man to make way for jetliners. The Constellation, along with TWA will always be my fave airline and aircraft. And because so, I REALLY took my time with this bird. The cockpit windows are a decal from a Minicraft kit. A few windows were discarded, then I placed each individual window in their exact spot. This is my best work, yet. And I almost NEVER say that about my models. I got another Monogram Connie that I'm gonna use in a diorama.

Aye, but my preference is the initial production model, the L-49. its fuselage shorter than the Super, it first flew in '43, it was said that the Constellation would fly faster than Japan's Zero fighter. Howard Hughes took one (as a C-69 designation) in 1944 and set a record from Burbank, CA to DC in just under 7 hours, even stopping in Kittyhawk, NC along the way to pick up Orville Wright, whom also took the controls, and commented that the wingspan is longer than that of his first flight.
Hehe yeah, I like the 749's along with the 49's. but for me it's the l-1649's that are my choice in the constellation series. Hehe but I have always been a big fan of Lockheed products, don't know why just something about them. Hey have you ever seen the the 649's with the under fuselage luggage carrier?
Here's a vid put up a few weeks ago. My fave part is time index 21:50 to 22:28

I remember seeing a few of those still in service when I was really young...late 1950s and about 1960 or so.
I also use to like those quite well.
However, one plane I was always a big fan of was the DC-3. DC-3s were used for passenger service, military troop transport, humanitarian efforts for 3rd world countries, and air mail service.
They were the world's most safest and reliable aircraft, and can glide like a glider if the engines quit.
