Though only a patchwork of his past is known, the story goes that Kaw wasn't originally a gryphon, but a purebred river otter. Something changed him, and when it did, it attuned him far more with the forests of olde than his homeland of stone and metal. He wasn't a true gryphon in the heraldric sense, but rather some sort of fae creature, equally comfortable in the trees, and sea and the sky.

Notes: This piece, aside from trying to practice certain skills (By far the best thing I have sketched with just the tablet thus far, generally NOT my strong point.), I got a couple questions, ideas to bounce around. Y'all get to help me fine-tune a Kawaburd, iffin ya want. :>
-The hind legs. I like avian better from an aesthetic standpoint, but lutrine COULD work... I just don't like it plain old boring brown.
-The... well... 'Shine' ears. ;p Aside from showing I joined 'the guild' a long time ago, do they fit?
-The crest and mane. It's boring to me, but the fluff itself stays. Throw styles and colour suggestions at me, dammit!
-Overall... Iluvia (No, Kaw isn't his actual name) could stand to look a bit less... normal. I'm looking for ideas to make him look more fae-like, possibly more sylvan, like some sort of DnD lovechild between the Lorax and Captain Planet, if you will. ;p What would help here?

I can see the mane/crest having either magenta or lavender streaks dyed in/"built" in.
And... if the otter-only paws aren't your thing, have you thought about the idea of having the talons grow OUT of the paws? I love the design of the forepaws. Could the rear talons be... those, with the fur covering until, oh, say, the knuckle closest to the paw?
Another thought- if you're looking for more "fae" posture, you're pretty damn close. Perhaps have the tail perk up a bit more- maybe even be a touch prehensile and show it either kinked or swirled. I love the limb positioning for the idea of "fae."
