End.
Someone asked me if this comic had something to do with my own life. Well, yes and no. The idea for this comic came because some conversations I had with friends about how much we changed in the last 4 or 5 years. We’re only 23 or 24, but it’s not the same as when we were 18, 19 or 20.
In this comic, I refer to a neighbourhood I used go when I was 17 and 18 principally. It’s the Carmen neighbourhood, and me and some friends went every weekend at night during those years. That was another world. We had just entered in the Fine Arts faculty and the Carmen had a really bohemian spirit. An old neighbourhood full of little pubs with paintings of street artists or students of art, buildings all painted with enormous graffiti’s, lots of hippies doing juggling and selling marijuana cookies, rockers, heavies, wasted punks, red skins, hipsters… all kind of people, even prostitution in some streets near the neighbourhood.
The scenery of this comic is the Carmen. A totally dead place now. All that people disappeared. And now, the only thing left for the characters of this story, is remember how it was and how they were.
There’s a song that influenced me for this comic. A friend of mine showed it to me one day we were talking about how special we felt when we entered in the faculty. Here’s the song -> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2TprOv7XEDY
Maybe you’ll think this comic is all about the song, but no. If this story and the dialogues of the characters coincide that much, is because me, and some of the people who studied in the same faculty, feel this way. But, of course, there are differences. We are not poor people who can’t pay for food or things like that XD
Oh, about the title, yes, is a reference of the song of the same name of Tom Waits. In fact, in the third panel of the first page, there’s the CD cover of the album where this song belongs. I thought the title matches pretty well and I like the melody for this comic. Here’s the song if you’re interested -> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x6KkJ6-Ecxw
Hope you liked the comic!~
And sorry for my English!

It's definitely not easy is it! At my job I'm a step below serving; I seat people and take to-go orders, and help servers carry things out to tables. Only on Fridays though, Saturdays and Sundays I work in the kitchen and I despise it.
I totally dig how you drew the eyes for the strip; they are very expressive yet simple.
