This piece is a whole lot more depressing than it first appears. It has a lot of inevitability in it... quite sad.

Eventually the sun will rise enough to fill that shadow.... and what then?

The color tone of the lighting suggests morning, and the expression and pose suggest the same; were it sunset, she'd be sitting patiently and waiting, not huddled in desperation, knowing she's mistakenly made herself trapped.

Bury herself in the dirt or make a burrow beneath the dumpster. If the ground is too hard to dig, risk exposure and hide in the dumpster. Perhaps she could slather dirt all over her body and wait for the sun to go behind a cloud to minimize damage.

Ever saw a picture of a green forest, where the sun-rays partially penetrate the thick leaves of the trees, so it looks like pillars of light entering the forest? That would be a nice setting for such a meeting...
