This is the setup I have currently for my betta and glass shrimp. I want to eventually get some grass established in there, but can't afford to at the moment till I get my car fixed and my bills paid, and maybe get christmas presents...if I can afford to ><
but the tank is a 2.5 gal tank, with a little heater. It has a moss ball and some peacock ferns in the corner and also has some glass shrimp to keep my betta company as well as help keep the tank clean and free of excess waste.
at the moment my betta will somewhat eat his flakes and freeze dried blood worms, but when the shrimp are eating a bottom feeder pellet, he feels the need to steal it from them.

depends, some bettas do and some don't. My previous betta never did and this new one hasn't yet. Though my friend's betta killed or stressed hers out. You can put certain types of fish and bottom feeders with betta, just gotta figure out what is ok with your betta and what isn't. Some fish will attack the betta too. But as long as there isn't another betta in the tank their generally fine.
female betta's can live together without attacking eachother.

i'd swear that moss ball looks just like those catnip toys. there's a little tank with one little purple beta and some kind of fringie snail looking thing living in it.
i'm not sure who it belongs to, sitting on the sink in the bathroom.
they both seem healthy and happy. i had no idea about that thing being a moss ball.
i thought for sure someone had somehow dropped one of those cat toys in there, and i was wondering how and why.
now i know. i guess.
