I am currently trying to learn to handsew from the samples you sent with me, trying different needles and different threads to sew patches of those samples together. So far the results are, well, not really satisfactory in the professional view, but it gets the job done I guess. The seams hold, but I am not confident enough to move onto the suit itself yet. Just wait a bit, maybe I get the hang of it sooner than I thought so you only have to send me the repair kit :)

I had some kids hug me on my last outing and I got home to find out I'd been walking around with a blue smudge on my chest (a lot of them had facepaint and attacked me with love before I could escape). Thank doG it washed out!

Sort of-- basting is a temporary stitch and mostly used for test fitting purposes or to keep the pieces from sliding around when you machine sew (as pins can fall out). I like it extra-much on faux fur because it makes everything look much cleaner on both inside and out, notice how there's no random fur caught in the seams?
