Well I had a kit that had a bunch of jump rings and some of the chain and I just clipped the section of the chain I needed and attached the clasp to it and used some pliers to pull the jump rings far enough apart to get the bead and the chain on and closed it back up. It's doesn't sound too terribly difficult, but it's kind of time consuming to get used to doing them.
