Thank you, you did a great job! I'm really glad to have a picture of my old team! It's such a shame I sold all of my games, I really miss these guys, and can't believe how much I remember about them. I actually remember how and where I caught Two (mewtwo), and Nolean (noctowl). Its so odd, lol.

Buy em back and replay em! That's what I just did with Ruby, Sapphire and Emerald. They just came in the mail today!

Can the newer systems still play the old games, like Yellow, silver, and crystal, or would I have to get the newer ones like firered, soulsilver, and whatever the new crystal one is called.

I'm very confused. How did it change so much without my noticing? @_@

A Gameboy Advance will play Red, Yellow, Blue, Silver, Gold, Crystal, Ruby, Sapphire, Emerald, FireRed, and LeafGreen (they don't make new versions of the third games, just the two that go with them)
A Nintendo DS, DS Lite, or DSi (and maybe a 3DS, I've never played one so I don't know) will play Ruby, Sapphire, Emerald, FireRed, LeafGreen, SoulSilver, HeartGold, Diamond, Pearl, Platinum, Black, White, Black 2, and White 2.

Basically, the GBA can play GB, GBC, and GBA games, and the DS can play GBA and DS games.

Yeah, I stopped at Crystal. My younger brother got Sapphire, but we both ended up hating that game. (No offense if you liked it. I don't even remember why.) I left the fandom completely, and my brother hasn't touched a Pokemon game since. XD

I thought I heard something about a second Crystal version. Guess I was wrong, it's a shame though. I preferred Crystal to Silver. Wow is that crazy though, so many games. XP

That's a great deal, I'm having trouble finding a real version of Crystal or Silver under $20. Seriously, what is with all the fake copies?

Do you know anything about the new games? I can borrow my brothers DS, but it would be pointless if I could not get my old team back, or hated the game. It seems finding a working system, and game is not easy, and rather expensive. Not to mention, there wouldn't be a way to trade them. My brother doesn't have his Advanced or the trading cable anymore. :(

Aww I liked it. Maybe if you gave it a second try you wouldn't hate it as much? If not you can always resell it.

I think it was rumored when FR and LG were released but it never actually happened. They didn't remake Yellow or Crystal and they probably won't remake Emerald either. Which kinda sucks, since I never got to play Crystal.

Crystal and Silver are harder to find because they're older and considered "retro" now.

I LOVE HeartGold and SoulSilver. SS is probably my favorite Pokemon game so far (Silver was my favorite for years until this one came out). I haven't had a chance to play Diamond, Pearl, or Platinum yet. I didn't get very far in White because it's REALLY hard to grind and keep a balanced team so I lost interest kinda fast. But, everyone else I know who's played it says it has one of the best stories so far and they all absolutely love it.

Maybe, my brother may still have it even.

I think I'm going to get SoulSilver, and maybe one other DS game so I can complete the pokedex. I've read that you can move Pokemon from different games with only one device by Migrating them. It sounds like it's a great game from what I've read about it. What do you mean by grind a team?

You can migrate from a GBA game to a DS game with just one DS....I'm not sure how it works between DS games of different generations.

And grinding is when you do nothing but battle wild Pokemon just for the sake of leveling up. It involves a lot of running in tiny circles in the same patch of grass lol.

You need two DS's for DS games of different generations, or a good friend apparently. Lol, I've been reading up on these newer games all night. XD

Oh, I use to do that! Although, I eventually just keep rebattling the Elite Four to level up. There's a bit of a disadvantage if you dump your starter pokemon for a Hoothoot/Noctowl.

That's what I figured. And yeah, the newer games have friend codes so you can trade via WiFi. You don't even have to be in the same state!

Yeeeeeaaaah I could see how that would backfire XD My Elite Four team for SS was Typhlosion (my original starter), Feraligatr (trade), Pidgeot, Ampharos, Alakazam, and Lugia.

Cool, I guess I'll have to start asking around once the games get here. I'm not sure how many people I know still play the games, but I guess it won't hurt to ask.

This pokemon team was my Elite Four team. Raichu (original starter pikachu), Kabutops (from Dome fossil), and Mewtwo were traded from my Yellow game. Noctowl, Houndoom, and Dragonair are from Crystal.

I'm getting SoulSilver, HeartGold, and Platinum. *Just found a good deal on the three of them.* I'm not 100% sure but I've heard people trade codes for the newer games. Do you do that for these?
