A lot of people have been commenting on how I've been doing the eyes on my models, and up till now I've kept them simple, not cause I didn't know how to do them properly (look at the crow model) , its mostly cause of the shader setup in cycles would always turn out looking too dark, completely black, etc.
Well, I finally managed to hit on a good combo! The eye color is all set via the nodes, and the actual iris texture only influences where the color is shown.
Might be using this set up on future models!
