I just got back from seeing Colm Wilkinson perform a mix of Musical numbers and after the show myself and 
prplhaze were able to get a few photos and meet Colm himself. He loved my suit jacket I was wearing, it had a Union Jack on the side, and one member of the team Loved my shoes and had to take a photo of them!

Yes.. he definitely did fit the character.. he was definitely the best Phantom out of all the actors/singers who played him.. I suppose for me I was just amazed with Gerard in the Phantom movie because I never much cared for him in any previous movies.. I thought he was a rather shitty actor, truthfully..
So when I first heard he was going to be the Phantom.. I was like "Uggggh!" ... and then once I saw it I realized.. it was probably some of his best work and that he really is a better singer than an actor.
