Spent four hours attempting to paint Mr. Buddy for my brother for Christmas. I didn't have the proper brown, pink, or white, so I had to sub the best I could. The background took the longest (shitloads of dots) but gave me something to break on if I got tired of the main focus.
Medium: Watercolor
Canvas: Watercolor specifically
Time: Four hours
Brush: Size 8 flat Artcolor
Notes: I think his forehead and eyes are a tad too large which makes him look like a kitten rather than a cat (see provided link for photo). The pose is also off. Not to mention he's awfully flat looking in this cellphone photo. I may scan this later.

The thought of using pastels crossed my mind, actually. I had left them with my mate at his place, though, when we split the art supplies. (just moved back with my parents for family reasons)
Thank you for such a nice comment. :)
I like this painting while working on it, but as soon as I finished and took a second glance at the result, I started not to like it here and there. I thoroughly enjoy feedback/ constructive criticism.
A few moments ago, I was sitting on the floor and noticed that the painting looked better from that angle instead of flat. Probably a result of how I was sitting with the pad.

Nah I just got really bored halfway through each color. It was tough not to say "Fuck it!" and just let the brush fall, but then I wouldn't have had such nice dots. There are some red-purple splotches in the top right corner but those were not accidental.
I had never taken a close look at Mr. Buddy until I decided to paint his portrait . . . His markings are exquisite!
