Just playing with some stuff; trying to do a pretty ambitious scene in color, trying to imply a larger number of people with a few figures, trying to make things just busy enough without being too busy, and just wanting to draw or paint forests, dinosaurs and wild elves.
I wanted to do cell shading to tackle this quickly and to focus more on colors rather than risk getting caught in technical details of blending.
The dromaeosaurid isn't any particular type of dinosaur, just some sort of kinda generic manaraptoran in a fantasy setting.

The bone-helms, dinosaur companions, and boomerang-like clubs make me think of the Talenta from Eberron, one of my favorite fantasy cultural groups of all time. Both because it is so unusual (nomadic halfling barbarian/rangers with boomerangs?) and because... c'mon... RIDING DINOSAURS.

And I've been... eh. Some things have been good, but some stuff has seriously been getting to me lately. Part of why the batch of posting art recently; I'm between jobs again, and really want to figure things out and see if I can make better stuff for customers, if that makes sense.

I've heard a theory that the great "and then the beautiful Indian princess saved Smith's life" is not actually something Smith made up because it sounded good, but instead Powhatan playing sleazy politics. Sort of a "see? I threatened to start a war with them and it didn't work - so can we go trade with these weird English people now?"
