The illustration featured in this submission is a charcoal rendering of actor Peter Billingsley as the character Ralphie Parker from the 1983 Bob Clark film A Christmas Story. The illustration was rendered on a 12 inch by 9 inch sheet of vellum Bristol.

Off the bat, this rendering comes off as a terrible failure. I attempted to incorporate two elements: Billingsley in the foreground and a shot of Santa's village in the background. I feel I failed terribly in my execution, perhaps realizing that charcoal isn't the medium for illustrating such a complex scene or that my media size doesn't permit for illustration such complex objects.
