Decided to make hir into a Magic The Gathering card. Once I have an action shot of hir in armor I will make an offensive version, but this one is designed to be quite a defensive card, yet still help a little with strategic offense by ensuring your creatures attack the opponents defenders in the most opportune way for you.
Mechanics explanations (for those who don't know):
Modular X: When the creature comes into play put X +1/+1 counters on it. When the creature dies place these counters on an artifact creature. Usually Modular is only found on artifact creatures of the ArcBound variety (I added it because 1) I loved ArcBound, 2) my portal tech has given me acceptance in the modular community here on FA, and 3) as a slight homage to hir origin story ["Thorn's Descent"] where shi was trying to board a ship called the ArcLight. In that universe hir portal tech is built on continues ArcFold space fields.).
Reach: This creature may block as though it had flying.
Horsemanship: Creatures with Horsemanship cannot be blocked except by other creatures with horsemanship. Figured I would give hir this since shi's a taur and shi can only use it in a defensive capacity, being Defender and all.
Defender: This creature cannot attack.
Portal Swap: Following all Block Declarations and before moving to the Damage Step this ability may be activated to switch the block targets for any two of your own blocked or blocking creatures. The new blocking declarations must still be legal.
Primarily for offensive management (ie, rearranging the blocked pairings when you attack) it can also be used defensively to partially circumvent mechanics like Provoke. This does NOT let you change out a blocking creature with a creature that had not previously been in the combat. Nor does it let you force an opponents creature to block their own creatures. It just lets you SWAP the existing assignments of YOUR creatures currently blocking/being blocked.
Example: You attack with a 10/6 Trample creature and a 1/1 token. The enemy blocks your trample creature with a 3/2 and a 3/4 creature knowing both will die to kill the trampler and the player only takes 4 damage, and blocks the token with their 1/2 soldier. You can activate Portal Swap to move your token to the two blockers and the trampler over to their soldier so the player will take 8 damage and you lose only a token. These are still legal blocks so it works. Knowing you have Portal Swap your opponent would be better off not blocking the token so you can't move the Trampler over to such a weak defense.
Shi is blue as a manipulative engineer, but traditionally felines and blocking management are white, so I included the white cost in hir ability. Hir offensive card will be a white feline warrior with a blue cost ability.
Oh, I should also point out that its been quite a while since I played and some friends recently told me there have been rule changes, so I don't know if this is changed at all by them.
Hir flavor text is a throwback to some peoples views of Chakats all being "sluts," as well as speaking to the character's mobility.
Let me know if you think the costs are unbalanced.
EDIT: Dang it, 'bocking'? Eh, I'll wait to fix it till I get some feed back on any other changes I need.
