i got the same when im trying to paint stuff digitally XD there are few techniques of coloring where you can put light and shading ^^ one is that you softly color parts which will held light, normal color and shading, other one id softly coloring whole image as you want and then add light and shade ^^ here i used second type, there is light red, dark red and 3 types of blue for shading Cx
you can always draw something simple for practice but at first, test your crayons if they dont slide on each other and if the colors match pretty ;)
