Oh gosh this is so cute! No, it's not horrible, and you shouldn't feel bad -- it is better to make art than not to make art! Besides, if you keep drawing you'll get better!
I imagine what happens next is that I take a step toward the tree to put the candy cane on it, and step off the box and get a face full of tree. :) Then I scritch my head in confusion and maybe push the step stool a bit closer and try again (and possibly the same thing happens). :)
