Modernized picture from the literary work Beowulf! our project was to take a well known classical story and modernize or change it in some way> I opted for a 20's to 30's ish mobster styling with elements of steam punk! Really happy with the picture although Beowulf (guy with tommy guns) is not only unfinished but also came out blurry in the photo ^^; Ill update this when i get a chance. Picture is roughly 15x22 inches on 300LB hotpress watercolor paper. medium is Watercolor, watercolor pencil, colored pencil, and a light amount of white charcoal ohh and a shit ton of Salt for the texture. I really like how the picture is coming out so far! Enjoy ^^

That looks awesome! It's a great rendition of the classic story, and even thinking of the tale of Beowulf in the mobster genre makes me laugh.
I love the expression that you gave him, and especially like the shorter stature and body style. The detail on the 'dragon' is great and the shading for the background looks like you spent a lot of time on it, even from this rendition. I'd love to see this as it progresses, and through a better medium (scanner, photo, etc).
