I was digging through my archives when I ran across an incomplete version of this character, one Broad Heart Lepti, Care Bear Cousin. At the time when I drew this, I was wanting to make a leptictidium and thought one in the '80's Care Bears style would be amusing. Presumably, Broad Heart's schtick would be something along the lines of diversity is a good thing, that just because something is different doesn't mean it's a bad thing, or some such. Were I to revisit this character, I'd probably tweak the name and tummy symbol.
I took so long in finishing this one because I originally wanted to try coloring it up in the actual style of the original catalog art, with its definite fur patterning. Finally, I realized I probably wasn't going to get around to imitating the old art style and decided to just finish it as is so people can look at it.

The Nelvana's Care Bear and Cousins, they're the best ever, in my opinion.
I saw the TV episodes when a child back in the 80s ^__^ I really enjoyed it a lot
The ones with Cold Heart, were older than Nelvana's, back in 1982 there were two specials doing by Atkinson Films: The Land Without Feelings and Care Bears Battle the Freeze Machine.
After that there was a TV series, done by Dic Animation, the drawings were nice, but the Care Bears and Cousins, I think they weren't drawn that nice

Thanks. The wiggly noses were part of being a leptictidium some 54 million years ago (their fossils are exceptionally well preserved in the Messel Pits of Germany). Nowadays, elephant-shrews and bilbies have similar noses although they're not very closely related to leptis.
She's a leptictidium, a now-extinct mammal that lived in what is now Europe (then an archipelago) some 50 to 35 million years ago. A goodly number of excellently preserved fossils have been excavated from the Messel Pits in Germany.
