I think I'm showing a lot of progress! Last year my vow was to focus more on composition and storytelling. I did show the inklings of it but I think I can push much further in that direction.
I think what I gained most this year is accuracy and dynamicism in my figures. This is particularly in august through december, as I started doing gestures for a half-hour a day. If it doesn't show here, my sketchbook definitely reflects the difference!
Sadly, I've been suffering a little from depression again and I think it's reflected in the nature and scale of the work I'm taking. For 2013 I vow to do more full-scale paintings with multiple characters.
It's unfortunate that I had almost nothing from July except the quick drawings done at that month's Dr Sketchys. I was quitting my second job and had to work overtime to make sure everything got done before I left on the 21st. When the date came I was exhausted, so it was weeks before I started producing again.
It is kinda funny that many of these pictures are of horses, I think that was because Bronycon happened twice in the span of 6 months. I still need to finish a fluttershy painting for that series too, oi!
I'm trying to get faster. Hopefully that comes with confidence?
