Here is the first trading card we did for someone, for our dear friend
magentawolf as part of the kickstarter campaign we did.
This character actually showed up in issue 6 of Ringtail Cafe, and got her own trading card as if it were part of a sports team trading card series (There's another one, but I don't have a photo of that yet.)
Sadly, the photo does not show off how nice and glossy these cards are. They're as thick as other trading cards but also have a very nice UV coating.

There's 2 parts to it. Printing, and the art. Printing is a fixed cost, it costs $20 for 250 cards, or $25 for 500 cards, plus the cost of the art. If it's a bust, it's $50. If it's a complex piece of art it'd be closer to $70.
If you have a design for the back, we can use it otherwise I can put one together for you if you're interested :)

Just an FYI, we can also get them with rounded cut corners (which is standard for playing cards, rather than collectors cards), but it jumps the price up. I can get more info if you like. But if you can get corners rounded yourself (or don't need them round) it saves a lot.
Well at 500 per card we are talking $10k plus and thats just that cards, before corners rounded packaging advertising the whole nine. This is something we'd need to use kickstarter for and we'd want to work closer with you guys. Did I mention ... we still need something like 250 pieces of art done. Nothing high quality but yeah. I've unfortunately found FA a bad place for a company to find artists.
There are a lot of sub par or average artists that want % of royalties of the company for years and stuff. It's mind boggling what they ask. The local college students are more reasonable but their schedule and timeliness makes you seem like you didn't drop off for a bit. I'm sure I'm preaching to the choir though as you've likely been there too.
Oh for more solid idea. We have 390 unique cards. 12 of those cards however would be printed at almost 10x the amount of the rest (rough numbers off my head) 12 of the cards would be printed at about 2x. Email me if you want to know more this is likely TMI for an FA post.
