Oceans are...interesting to paint. I started building this one with a golden spiral composition and some simple layer effects seen in the clouds.

I love the way the new generation clouds are designed in MLP. The fact that most objects have a quirk or curve to them lends a lot of visual style to the show. I tried to hybridize that with the ocean but leant more towards an impressionist style.

Then just went to Town on the ocean! Oh man. Anyone who does not use reference is missing out.
I even tried some more advanced lighting methods with the bottle and sunglasses/
So this was kind of an experimentation piece for me as well. There are things to improve on but I'm happy with the result :3
