I've done chicken this way but not turkey. How'd it turn out?

Cool. I usually set them in the smoker for around 6 hours. I imigine a turkey would take quite a bit longer. Also, I've been looking for something other than a soda / beer can to put the spices and stuff in. I know it's not safe or healthy to be using them.

Actually, I would be very interested to know your recipe for this 'beer can' turkey of yours :)

Well I marinated the turkey in beer mixed with store bought BBQ rub over night, I used a marinating needle to inject into the turkey after I had rubbed it down with the seasoning. In the morning I took all the marinade and put half a can of it under the turkey as you can see. I have a special wire support for a turkey, more cone shaped and twice as tall as chicken holder. I baked it for 2 hours at 325 F then tented it in foil to bake another 2 hours. Then covered in BBQ sauce, baked another 20 mins, more sauce, and another 20 mins and serve.
