Alrighty, here we go~
This is what it looks like inside my Level 10 GT case. Cable management is always a bitch, cause they never make that gap large enough on the other panel-side. I manged though!
Here's what we have for parts!
Processor: Intel 3930k 3.2 Ghz | 3.8 turbo | Hex-Core (12 threads)
Motherboard: ASUS Rampage IV Extreme
RAM: 16GB (4x4GB) G-Skill 1600 Mhz DDR3 RAM (4 out of 8 DIMM's filled)
PCI-E Slot 1: Sapphire Radeon HD 5870 2GB Eyefinity 6
PCI-E Slot 2: Empty
PCI-E Slot 3: ASUS Radeon HD 5870 1GB (overvolt capable)
PCI-E Slot 4: Empty
HDD 1: Samsung 840 PRO 120GB (RAID 0)
HDD 2: Samsung 840 PRO 120GB (RAID 0)
HDD 3: WD Caviar Black 640GB
HDD 4: WD Caviar Blue 500GB
HDD 5: WD Caviar Blue 500GB
Optical Drive: SATA CD/DVD Burner
PSU: NZXT 1000W Gold 80 Cert (with single, high power 12v rail)
Corsair H80i Sealed-Water cooling system
2x Noctua NF-F12 High Pressure PWM Heatsink fans (replaces loud corsair stock)
Yes, the graphics cards are somewhat dated. I'm replacing them both with one Nvidia GTX680 when the time comes I can snag one~

Well, there's a couple things behind power supplies that are kinda silly.
One thing is that they're only so efficient. I think mine is either 85-90% efficient, whereas most are 65-75%.
Second thing is that that's only maximum wattage. Unless I'm playing an intense video game or doing backups, my PSU is probably supply anywhere from 400-600w. Don't quote me on that last bit, but definitely not full wattage there X3
Unfortunately, all that power draw comes from the graphics cards. They're super-powerhogs when they're in use D:

I, too, have recently joined the 80Plus Platinum club. The NZXT 1000W put up a good fight for about five years, but recently crapped out, so I moved on to a 1000W EVGA SuperNova. Much more quiet and colder running, with a color that agrees with the rest of my case too.
Out of curiosity, are you future prepping with that 1200W? Or were you after the pure efficiency like myself?

Oooh, very nice. I certainly don't blame ya for wanting extra head-room either. Better to have a power supply that won't be stressed under load than one running at near maximum draw.
In my new setup I've got one 780Ti wedged inside my Lian-Li PC-07S case. I've got a newer, longer riser cable on the way so I can attach the card to the first PCI-E slot; hoping it will solve a serious POST problem I've been having lately with my RAMPAGE IV Extreme. The Riser the case came with isn't long enough to reach the first slot, so it's stuck being attached to the third slot.
Technically I'll be able to SLI if I snag another 780Ti, but I'm not sure if I should due to thermal concerns. The PC-07S is a cramped case, but I love its aesthetics and design too much to want to go back to that old Level10 GT.
I'll post up a new pic once I get that cable installed, too. The pic and specs are pretty outdated now.

True true~ Though I have a feeling you might appreciate the new build even more so :o
I've got some new pictures up of the desk as well as a detail shot of the new case and system if ya wanna take a peak!
Sorry about the late reply too, didn't mean to drop off the face of the earth like that. Hoping things have been well on your side.

My only complaint with the Noctua's are that they're ugly as sin. I understand that those are Noctua's company colors, but still.. Being the aesthetics dork that I am, I was heavily considering going with the Scythe Gentle Typhoons cause they're a normal color (they're also 200RPM faster than the Noctua's). Went Noctua though, since I love that company's products.
Regardless though, they're extremely quiet. Even on full load, the only sound I hear is the sheer air-pressure being pressed through the H80i radiator. Not that good of a case fan due to the meager 54.3 CFM, but definitely the kind of fan you want to stuff into a radiator or heatsink where high-pressure means more than sheer air volume.
The main reason why I dumped the stock corsair fans is that they're freakin' loud as all hell. "Jet engine" is a term thats kind to the sound that those damn things make. I also lost about 2-3 Celsius total temps, so definitely worth the rather steep price-tag of $30/fan.
I'll be swapping the orientation of those Noctua's when I get around to it, since they're technically supposed to be oriented so they pull air in from the back of the case, not from the already warm air inside the case itself. Easy fix, just sucks unplugging and replugging everything back in and lugging around this 40-50 pound behemoth XD Thank god for that carrying handle.
Also, that sucks about the cable! Was it completely totaled, or were you able to get it working at least? D:

Yeah I have it currently pulling air out of the case, since blowing IN is not the best idea since I have the mahoosive 200MM fan on the side of my case acting as an intake as well.
Running my lovely Corsair Carbide 500R case and my god I love this thing. Upgraded/sidegraded from a Antec 900 and already loving it! In built dust filters (except on the side panel, annoyingly enough AND no filters on the top or rear, just the front and bottom where the PSU sits)
Running the stock coolers they have been quiet as anything, hell of a lot quieter than my older Zalman cpu cooler.
The new cable came today but i'm a bit skeptical to use it since this is currently running on the mobo headers for the fans and doing a reasonable job, temps dropped 5 degrees compared to the older cooler, and even under load this thing hardly goes about 40 now. Though the idle I'd prefer at under 30 (which it is JUST sitting on right now) but this is a hot room to begin with anyway.
Also heard horror stories about the corsair LINK software constantly accessing drives it didn't need to and in some cases, causing failures on those drives or just corrupting the boot records. So I guess gonna leave it running for a bit to see how it gets on.
