In a lot of Europe, the first animated series was retitled Teenage Mutant Hero Turtles, because censors thought the word "ninja" was too violent. They also had a thing against Mikey's Nunchaku, but the katanas, bo staff, and sai were fine. Censors in the 80's/90's were weird like that.
