Story sketch (polar bear/whale) sketch
This was supposed to be a 1,000 ton bear, the end result of feeding and growth that happens in a story I am writing for Meanybeany. But, even when you scale the Inuit holding the fish down to the intended size (about 2/3 his current size, he was drawn bigger for ease of sketching) the bear ends up being about 50 feet long and weighing ~100 tons. I can't scale the guy down much more without the whale flukes being too big. The bear would have to be 100 feet long to mass 1,000 tons, even plump as she is. That would make the whale flukes 40 feet wide, twice as wide as even a blue whale's. Yes, artists -- at least some artists -- worry about stuff like that. 83
This is just here to show to Meany to see what changes he wants.
