I've read that in India, when magicians would use mass-hypnosis, for example the famous "Hindu Rope Trick"; they would burn weed, to get the audience stoned. Because a stoned person made a better hypnotic subject. I've also read that Holy Men smoke weed to go into meditative/hypnotic states faster and deeper. Oh, very cool drawing!
