Coba Mayan Temple View Panorama
I just came back from a trip to Mexico - specifically to visit the last climbable temple before it joins the rest of them, and are closed to climbing to protect the degrading limestone. It was such a rush! Wonderful experience.
This was taken at the Coba Ruins in Quintana Roo, Mexico. It's quite a view from the top!

Nope not anymore, sadly! That was my first choice of location, until I discovered it's unclimbable. Coba will be as of January 2013 - I really just snuck in there!
I liked the little bit of a rush that came with the risky climbing - I have a fear of heights, myself. Something I wanted to challenge!
But then my 8 year old niece climbed to the top and hopped down the steps to the bottom. So much for my achievement, haha!

Ahhh...I remember that so well. I lost a finger when we were first building that temple. Crushed the end off moving a stone on one of the interior courses of stone. A priest took good care of it for me wrapping it in spider webs and giving me potions for pain. I had several young women helping me out, too!
