Try to convey the skinniness of someone with anorexia without using the word. Sure it's possible, but I am lazy and typing out a whole paragraph to replace a single word seems silly. Besides, through the overuse of the word anorexic, it has become an adjective synonymous with being overly skinny. I've been called anorexic many times and I have no eating disorder.

Yep. It's the way I often talk in real life. I can be offensive to anyone who is afraid of vulgar language. It is what it is.
