I want to get a ref of Stryke so badly...
Stryke is my other sona. He's a six-legged beast with long, silky black fur that will slice you open if you touch him. His long tail is worn down to the bone at the end. His claws, three per foot, are broken and hurt him every day.
The scars beneath his eyes are the result of acidic tears. The purple substance he drools is poison and his teeth are broken. With no nose, he's constantly choking on the poison.
He is a creature who is purely alone.

I don't think a newt...but more salamader or komodo dragon would work as a base for drawing him--with some adjustments. But, yeah...probably people who don't do a lot of science-fictiony type art. With the description and stuff, it made me think of some of the Martian or Venusian beasts Edgar Rice Burroughs put into his books...and some artists could pull them off on cover art, but some artists couldn't. *hmmmm*
