The best way to start the new year ? For an anime wolf like me it's probably with an anime mech ^.^
It's funny how you start a picture with an idea in your mind, then you change the picture but keep your idea, and then again you change your idea but keep the picture, and it's more or less what happened to me while working on this picture.
At first it was supposed to be a Code Geass fanart with many people in it, but not knowing how to fit multiple characters on a dynamic scene making them "somehow" look like interacting i've decided to take it easyer, and i went for a simple Code Geass picture; then i was looking at the design of the mech and i've noticed (maybe because the knightmare frames have some design "mistakes" to me) that it was looking too static and there were several size/perspective/proportions mistakes so i scratched it and started over thinking to just draw a nice anime mech, keeping the design idea i had in mind.
So in the end, here it is the "Beast" frame, a machine i made up using a certain boss from a certain MMORPG as model for both the design and the "attack style" (If you have ever played Spiral Knights, try to paint all the blue parts of the mech to red... would it look familiar ?), a stealth assasin machine quick, agile, and shady like a ninja, equipped with top notch tecnologies like the cloak device, the oliarcon claws, the shockwave guns, and the best pilot system you can ever get for a mech: a neural interface, so no more cloche, levers or buttons, just mere mind and direct control on the machine as it is the own body of the pilot.
Of course no mech is complete without a pilot, and who could be a better (and sexyer) pilot than my wuff X3 ?
For the suit coloring i've tryed a different kind of shading and highlighting tecnique, and for the design i was mostly thinking about the pilot outfit from the videogame "ZOE" (Zone of the enders), just a bit tighter and with more wires, it gives a better impression of the "neural interface" i talk about ^^.
Arf, i know i suck with pictures comments, my apologies ^^;

Like Exo Squad ? Hmmm i don't like the idea of a permanent body modification considering that installing a device like that on a body can be considered as a transplant, and in some sci-fi stories (Xenon and Ether-Vapor) those end with the body rejecting the device most of the times, causing death or permanent damages.
If you've played ZoE2 (since I saw you using the frames and the second games protagonist for inspiration/design ideas), Inhert will sound familiar if you know the english names. I don't know it in italian, but it was the frame who held two blades, had skin that appeared to be gel-based in design, and a helmet/faceplate with what appeared to be a winged angel/goddess upon it.
