A custom tattoo for a client who wanted a representation of a Death's Head Moth with markings inspired by a variety of different cultural masks instead of the typical skull motif they are usually shown with.

The style reminds me a lot of a tattoo I plan to get myself, the cover of Mary C. Dickerson's "Moths and Butterflies" 1901 edition.

Lovely interpretation of these creatures, beautiful work.

I just watched Silence of the Lambs, where Death's Head Moths play an important role. I just love the design! It made me smile. :)
