Eran tres detectives quie vivían en u barco anclado, dos eran militares retirados y el otro un nerd amigo suyo y un genio tecnológico. Su agenacia se llamaba precisamente Riptide.
El helicóptero que tenían era uno de éstos, un Sikorski, apodado "Mimí la gritona" ah. sí. y tenían un robotito llamado Roboss, que tenía el mál h'bito de caerse al agua cada tres episodios.
