Updated concepts for my backrunners, which desperately need a new name. I'll figure that out once I get their bodies all fixed up, though.
I changed the gills to be more cobra-hood like, and added a flexible, notched tail for counterbalance and stability. Females can flush the undersides of their tail bright red, because bizarre sexual dimorphism is one of the coolest things ever.

I randomly heard "kriel" in my head awhile ago... But things like "goureg" and "rakhis" tend to hop in and out among the random variations of sounds I can stick in my head... I once named an arch villain in my novel by rolling my forehead on the keyboard and looking for a sound I liked in the letters. lol
