Hmmmm, a nice illo and a story behind it as well. From the looks of things the Lady isn't covering all that much of her face with her hair. Is this like some of the times in old England where exposing even a little bit of ankle was considered quite scandlous? And why is she taking such a course? Rebellion, for some reason? Wanting to try to attract someone's/s' attention? Break up boredom?

You got it! ^^ I think she might just be seeing how it might look rather than actually ready to run down the dinner party with her hair like that. I think her servant's face is enough to tell her it'd be a *really* bad idea. Shame the family and all.
