I like to play a little game with myself to test out my writing ability. I take a word--any random word--and make a short story of it. Thing is, I don't think about it. I instantly start writing, whatever comes to my head. I fly by the seat of my pants as I'm writing. I never know where the story will go.

I also like to try to write a story without directly telling a story. Giving hints and letting the reader fill in the rest.

At a Christmas party at my aunt's, my aunt asked me how my writing was going. I figured it would be a perfect opportunity to try out an instant story. I asked her to pick a word, and she chose mountain. I wrote this up in a matter of minutes.
